Press conference on improving energy efficiency in school buildings in Policki District

On Monday, March 13, the Police District Office held a press conference on the implementation of the project entitled "Improving energy efficiency in school buildings in the Policki District."

The conference was attended by the Mayor of Poland Andrzej Bednarek, Member of the Police District Board Beata Chmielewska, Head of the Department of Education and Culture of the Police District Office Agnieszka Bąk and Directors of educational institutions where the project is implemented: Agata Jarymowicz, Director of the School Complex. I. Łukasiewicza in Police, Ryszard Budzisz Director of Special Educational Centre No. 1 in Police and Marcin Głuszyk Director of Youth Educational Centre in Trzebież.

The project entitled "Improving Energy Efficiency in School Buildings in the Policki District" is implemented in three educational institutions, for which the leading body is the Policki District: I. Łukasiewicz in Police, the Youth Educational Centre in Trzebież and the Special Educational and Educational Centre No. 1 in Police. Its aim is to improve the energy efficiency of school buildings by supporting comprehensive investment measures consisting of deep thermal modernisation and undertaken to bring school buildings to a “passive” or “nearly zero emission” energy standard.

Planned thermo-modernization measures in the project include:

  • modernization of the installation, including replacement of radiators,
  • insulation of external walls with a layer of polystyrene foam,
  • replacement of exterior doors,
  • insulation of the ceiling,
  • replacement of window joinery,
  • modernization of HVAC with the necessary equipment and fittings,
  • installation of mechanical supply and exhaust ventilation,
  • replacement of lighting with energy-saving ones with motion detectors,
  • installation of photovoltaic panels

The project entitled “Improving Energy Efficiency in School Buildings in Policki County” is co-financed by the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism under the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme, Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Energy Security and the Government Local Investment Fund.

Currently, works on the school building of the School Complex have been completed. I. Lukasiewicz in the Police. The work at the Youth Educational Centre in Trzebież is still ongoing and should be completed by 15 July this year. A contractor has been selected at the Special Education and Training Centre No. 1 in Police and the works will start soon.

The total value of the project is PLN 19 224 480.13.

The original amount of co-financing from the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism under the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme was PLN 5 189 210,56. After receiving the decision of the Minister of Climate and Environment, the Policki District received additional funding in the amount of PLN 6,568,434.48. The total amount of funding from these funds is PLN 11 757 645.04 - said Beata Chmielewska, Member of the Police District Board during the conference.

Another co-financing in the amount of PLN 2 223 947.43 comes from the Government Local Investment Funds. The amount of PLN 2 350 242.14 comes from the Regional Operational Programme and is intended for investment in Trzebież. The remaining amount of PLN 2 892 645.52 comes from the budget of the Policki District.
